Wisconsin Counties Association Statement on Spring Election

The Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) has issued the following statement on the Spring election:

WCA extends its gratitude and appreciation to the county, municipal and town clerks across Wisconsin who worked tirelessly under very difficult circumstances to conduct Wisconsin’s April elections. Special thanks and recognition to the hundreds of volunteers who worked at the polling locations and the countless people who worked to make our polling locations as safe as possible.

Wisconsin citizens are to be commended for practicing social distancing at the polls and being accommodating and understanding of poll workers and fellow citizens given the conditions under which the election was conducted. The patience exhibited by Wisconsin’s citizens was truly virtuous.

As counties, we look forward to welcoming new board supervisors when the election results are tabulated and appreciate that we will be able to transition governance in an orderly fashion in this time of urgent need for county leadership.
