Legislative Program
WCA’s primary function is lobbying, with the WCA Legislative Team serving on the front lines, acting as the voice of county officials at the Capitol. Lobbying efforts include meeting with state legislators and members of the executive branch of government, reviewing legislation and rules, testifying before legislative committees, negotiating the state on county contracts and virtually every area in which influencing the decision-making process can assist counties.
Every two years, the WCA Board of Directors approves a legislative agenda. To view the 2025-2026 WCA Legislative Agenda click here.
Issue areas are broken up into seven areas: Agriculture, County Organization/Personnel, Environment and Land Use, Health and Human Services, Judicial and Public Safety, Taxation and Finance, and Transportation and Public Works.
