About Us

Michelle Gormican Thompson serves as the communications consultant for the Wisconsin Counties Association and for related companies, where she handles media relations, web site content management, social media strategies, electronic publications, speech writing, the “LocalGovMatters” podcast and other public relations and communications strategies.

She works closely with the government affairs team to accomplish legislative goals in the arena of public opinion, as well as with association leadership for outreach efforts.

Michelle came to WCA after working in the Wisconsin State Assembly, launching Thompson Communications in 2000, where she serves as principal of the organization.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Craig and their two children, as well as golfing, traveling and reading.

A graduate of UW-Whitewater, Michelle holds a degree in communications with an emphasis in marketing.
