Sauk County Board Chair Krueger Elected WCA President

Milwaukee’s Johnson, Jr. and Wood’s Pliml on Deck to Lead

Sauk County Board Chair Marty Krueger has been elected president of the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) and was sworn in last week during the 75th WCA Annual Conference in Dane County.

“Board Chair Krueger is a proven leader for county government in both Sauk County and around the state,” said WCA Executive Director Mark D. O’Connell. “He is a knowledgeable and dedicated public servant and I know his expertise on complex county issues will make him a vital leader for this association in the year ahead.”

Chairman Krueger’s term as president will run through September of 2014. He outlined his presidential initiatives in an inaugural speech given Tuesday, September 24th, which including fostering an even closer working relationship with UW-Extension, focusing on several technology initiatives for counties and creating training programs for new county supervisors.

Other WCA Officers elected at the conference for the 2013-2014 term include Milwaukee County Supervisor Willie Johnson, Jr. as vice president and Wood County Board Chair Lance Pliml as second vice president. The immediate past president is Ozaukee County Supervisor Gus “Sandy” Wirth, Jr.
