What Counties Need to Know and How They Can Protect Themselves

Register today for the August WCA Webinar, “Cyber Security in the Digital Age: What Counties Need to Know and How They Can Protect Themselves.”  This free webinar will be held August 14, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

The Internet has made government more efficient, more cost-effective and more responsive to its citizens, but it has also increased the risk to the data and information we collect. Counties – large and small – retain the personal information of thousands of individuals and maintain links with both the state and federal governments making our systems vulnerable to cyber attacks and hacking. In response to this growing threat, the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) has established a relationship with the Center for Internet Security (CIS), a not-for-profit entity dedicated to enhancing the security readiness and response of public and private sector entities.

This webinar will provide information on the cyber security threats counties face, the potential impacts of these attacks and how counties can protect themselves against these threats through user education and training and how CIS can help counties prepare for this growing threat.
