Starting Pay Range: $23.72 – $25.82

The full-time [40 hour/week] Veterans Service Specialist provides first contact with clients by phone or in-person, conducts initial interviews to determine client’s needs, offers referrals, provides assistance completing forms and securing documentation for the development of claims to the VA and WDVA, maintains cemetery records for all veterans buried in Taylor County, maintains schedules for the Disabled American Veterans van riders to the VA appointments, and submits reports to the VA.

An Associate Degree in Administrative Professional, Human Services, or related field and three years’ work experience in a customer service or office setting is required. Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. A preferred applicant will be an honorably discharged veteran per Chapter 45 of the Wisconsin State Statutes. Applicant must pass an FBI background check and become accredited within one year of being hired through training provided by the VA and WDVA.
