This is a salaried, professional and supervisory position providing clinical, programmatic, and administrative supervision to the Social Services Team of Pepin County Human Services Department. This position is responsible for designing a continuum of services and coordinating programing in addition to creating and managing a budget for social service programs.
This position provides leadership in responding to urgent, potentially life-threatening situations. These decisions are high stress, and high liability for the department and require the ability to think critically and to act decisively to ensure safety. The position is responsible for representing the department at county and state level meetings outside of the social services unit. SW Manager is an active participant in the leadership team and is designated as backup to the Director in the Director’s absence or unavailability.
Qualifications: Bachelor or master’s degree in social work or closely related human services field. Five years of recent professional human services work experience related to the programs in the area of Mental Health; AODA; Child Protection; or Juvenile Justice. Five years’ recent management/supervisor/lead worker experience. Social Worker Certification in the State of Wisconsin required or eligibility to become Certified in Wisconsin within six months from date of hire. Successful completion of the Juvenile Justice Intake Training or completion of Juvenile Justice Intake Training within the first six months of hire. A valid driver’s license required. Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of the following pre-employment requirements: Criminal and caregiver background check.
The 2025 Wage scale for this position is: $70,336 – $80,379 annually based on a 37.5 hours per week, with full benefit package including Wisconsin Retirement.
