Shop Superintendent

The purpose of this position is to plan, manage and supervise maintenance, repair and replacement of department equipment, buildings and property. This position manages the department safety program. This position shall plan, manage, and supervise the maintenance, repair, and replacement on all aspects and components of an asphalt mix plant including but not limited to electric motors, asphalt silos, natural gas source system, oil tanks, aggregate bin hoppers, elevators, conveyors, specialty heavy highway equipment, and small equipment such as chainsaws, dirt augers and lawnmowers. In addition to equipment and fleet management, this position is responsible for maintenance of county highway shop properties, parts inventory, and the fuel and hazardous materials permitting and compliance program.

Normal work hours for this position are Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
