Safety & Environmental Manager
Senior field manager position within Columbia County Highway & Transportation; responsibilities include but are not limited to, assist Commissioner with planning, permitting, and training department personnel, resources, and projects for successful implementation and completion to maintain equipment, buildings, grounds, bridges, culverts, roads, safety devices, signage, and road right-of-way on the State including interstate, County, and Town road systems within the county. WEEKEND AND NIGHT ON CALL position, assisting other managers and superintendents in the oversight of the day-to-day operation of the department. Qualifications: A minimum of five years of experience in planning, designing, maintaining, or supervising field construction and inspection of highways, bridges, culverts, signage; OR A combination of field experience and vocational or technical school background in Civil Technology or related field, and a minimum of two years responsible highway maintenance and/or highway construction experience. Computer knowledge and skills essential as well as public outreach coordination would be beneficial. Wisconsin Class A Commercial Driver’s License with H and N endorsement within 6 months of hire.
