Oneida County is accepting applications to fill a full-time, limited term (LTE) Epidemiologist position with the Health Department. This position is grant funded and anticipated through December 31, 2027. Continuation of position contingent upon securing ongoing grant funding.

JOB DUTIES: Position will work out of Oneida County serving a 15 county region including: Ashland, Bayfield, Iron, Sawyer, Forest, Vilas, Price, Florence, Lincoln, Oneida, Marathon, Portage, Wood, Taylor and Langlade. Responsibilities will include:
• Lead and support regional epidemiologic surveillance and data analysis for communicable disease, emerging health threats, and other public health issues
• Coordinate and support Community Health Assessment (CHA) data collection, analysis, and reporting across counties
• Develop and maintain shared data systems, dashboards, reports, and standardized indicators
• Provide technical assistance, consultation, and training to local health department staff
• Support outbreak response, emergency preparedness, and public health incident response
• Translate complex epidemiologic data into clear, actionable information for diverse audiences
• Support grant-related data analysis, evaluation, and reporting
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified individuals must have a Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or closely related field. Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health or related field preferred. Desired: three or more years’ experience in applied epidemiology, experience with disease surveillance systems, statistical software and data visualization tools, and experience working with multi-jurisdictional or regional public health partners. The ideal candidate must have strong skills in data collection, analysis, interpretation and communication; the ability to work independently, multi-task and manage competing priorities, and the ability to collaborate across jurisdictions. Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver License and ability to travel throughout the region served.

WAGES AND BENEFITS: Position starts at $39.18 per hour plus benefit package, including Wisconsin Retirement benefits and health, dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance.

WORK HOURS AND SCHEDULE: This is a hybrid position offering some flexibility with a combination of remote work and in-person meetings, trainings, and fieldwork as needed throughout the region. Travel throughout service area is required. Position typically works 40 hours per week.
