Public Health Project Nutritionist
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to assure proper implementation of nutrition services in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). This position will assure quality nutrition services for the local WIC Program, including maintaining referral resources. This position will also provide nutrition counseling and consultation, breastfeeding counseling, follow-up education for high risk clients, preparation and presentation of nutrition education materials. The work is performed under the direction of the WIC Project Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or related. Must be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who is registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or who within six (6) months of hire passes the CDR examination, and is also a Certified Dietitian (CD) who is certified with the State of Wisconsin. It is recommended to have two (2) years job-related experience and/or coursework in program management and public health nutrition. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and/or available means of transportation required. WIC program experience and breastfeeding certification (IBCLC, CLE, CLC, or CBE) is desired. Coursework and/or experience in business or management background, computer word processing and spreadsheet development/maintenance and community health is desired. Ability to effectively communicate using the Spanish language a plus.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS:
The 2022 annual salary for this full-time, (80 hours bi-weekly), exempt position is $45,406 to $58,385 (step 16). The expected starting annual salary is $45,406 to $51,896 (step 6), depending upon qualifications. Trempealeau County’s compensation plan considers annual wage step increases.
