Public Health Media Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Health Officer this position is responsible for planning, developing, and publishing all strategic communications for the Health Department to effectively engage and inform internal and external audiences about health-related activities, initiatives, and announcements. Coordinate health department communications to ensure message clarity and consistency and coordinate communication efforts across the organization and with Marathon County. This role maintains positive relationships between the health department and the public, while providing responsive, accurate, and timely information relating to public interest.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field, and one (1) to three (3) years communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or community outreach experience. Any combination of education or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify an applicant, and be considered in lieu of the more specific criteria listed above.
COMPENSATION:
Starting hourly rate: $24.62 – $29.55/hr. This position is eligible for full-time County employee benefits.
