POSITION SUMMARY:
Limited-term position will work in the District Attorney’s Office at the Marathon County Courthouse. The Marathon County District Attorney’s Office is committed to strengthening law enforcement’s relationship with the public; enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Marathon County; and ensuring that crime victims be treated with sensitivity, fairness, compassion and respect. This position will aid in the prosecution of criminal felony cases in Marathon County. Individuals with previous law enforcement related experience are encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS:
This is an opportunity for individuals with a demonstrated interest in the criminal justice system, including those enrolled in college criminal justice related coursework or those who have criminal justice related work experience. Public speaking, good communication skills, and passing criminal background check required. Duties require ability to think on your feet, attention to detail, and information retention.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Reviews Criminal Complaints and Booking Photos through District Attorney’s Office PROTECT data retention system, and researches and becomes familiar with elements of crimes in order to be able to testify at time-limit preserved preliminary hearings.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of computer software applications and operations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
• Ability to assume responsibility to problem solve with limited supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

COMPENSATION:
$18.00 -23.00 per hour. No benefits are provided for this temporary position.
