With the support of your supervisor and the rest of the public health team, you’ll be instrumental in driving forward our public health activities, from managing department communications to assisting with grant activities. Your role will involve preparing and maintaining various forms of communication, including social media posts, press releases, and presentation materials, ensuring our message reaches far and wide.
Additionally, you’ll play a crucial part in grant writing efforts, ensuring compliance with grant contract objectives while supporting coalitions and action teams focused on community health priorities. Anticipated starting pay range is between $23.89/hr and $25.23/hr.
**In addition to hourly pay, the Public Health Educator will receive $2.50 per hour in lieu of fringe pay.**
Primary Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Prepares, tracks and maintains department written and oral communications including social media posts, press releases, handouts and presentation materials.
Participates in grant writing efforts for existing and new health education efforts; provides support in tracking department compliance with grant contract objectives.
Provides support for coalitions and actions teams working on priorities identified in the community health assessment and community improvement plan.
Provides support for on-going community health needs assessment and department program evaluation.
Prepares and submits records and reports as required.
Responds to local public health emergencies as required.
Participates in professional development activities.
Participates in department, county health coalition and program meetings as required.
Performs other duties of a comparable level/type, as assigned.
