Parks Tech II
DESCRIPTION: Performs skilled work in implementing forest management programs, assisting in recreation program planning, supervising department personnel, interacting with the public, maintaining equipment and facilities, managing park operations, overseeing property management tasks, operating power tools and equipment, writing grant applications, and collaborating with other agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS: BS in Natural Resources field with emphasis in outdoor recreation. Previous experience or training in parks, recreation and forestry-related work, as well as experience in providing assistance and services to the public is required. Mechanical ability and knowledge of safe and proper use of equipment and tools. Experience in reading blueprints and performing masonry, electrical and carpentry skills will be necessary. Experience in outdoor maintenance activities or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SALARY: $25.16 per hour. Juneau County offers a generous benefits package.
