Parks Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position performs routine park maintenance tasks, assists with visitor contact, and patrols the County Park areas to assure visitor safety and compliance with park rules.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Grounds keeping, mowing, trimming, brushing, and pruning.
• Cleanup of facilities, trash removal, and snow removal.
• Repair, painting, and upkeep of buildings and facilities.
• Minor construction and assembly projects.
• Operation of light equipment such as pickup trucks, all-terrain vehicles, lawn mowers, small power tools, and hand tools.
• Sales of daily and annual park admission stickers and the registration of campers; assist with promotional and educational activities.
• Reconciles daily revenues and prepare deposits.
• Provides information to park visitors, sales of wood or canteen items.
• Monitors Park to assure compliance with park rules, prevent fires and vandalism, and assure visitor safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Experience operating light maintenance equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, trucks, and tractors preferred.
Full Pay Range: $15.60 – $17.84
Expected Pay Range: $15.60 – $16.08
