Position Summary

This is a full-time Nutrition Program Coordinator position in the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Vernon County, responsible for planning, developing, implementing and coordinating all services within the Nutrition Program. Employee in this position is under the administrative direction of the ADRC Supervisor/Unit Director, but consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in performing tasks in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices and applicable state and federal laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Has knowledge of requirements for all Older American’s Act programs.
-Submits data to the fiscal department for monthly reports to receive reimbursement from funding sources.
-Provides and completes ongoing spreadsheets, charts, graphs and other informational data as requested by the State, GWAAR, and/or the county.
-Trains Dining Center Managers and Home Delivered Meal Drivers in appropriate reporting practices.
-Communicates with Dining Center Managers and Caterers on regular basis.
-Responsible for the accuracy in all billings received from vendors for the department.
-Compiles and files data received by the Dining Center Managers and Home Delivered Meal Drivers.
-Ensures staffing at all Dining Centers and for all Home Delivered Meal routes. Acts as Dining Center Manager or Home Delivered Meal Driver in the absence of any Nutrition Program personnel.
-Assists Unit Director in keeping employees and volunteers abreast of information and policies critical of the Nutrition Program.
-Develops and provides required training for the Nutrition Program staff.
-Ensures that all required assessments for Home Delivered Meal participants are completed and entered into the data system.
-Annually evaluates each Dining Center to ensure the provision of nutrition services is being met and is compliant.
-Ensures that all Congregate Site members have completed yearly assessments and entered into the data system.
-Annually monitor each dining center to evaluate the provision of nutrition services.
-Develops fiscal procedures for the nutrition program.
-Maintain all accounts and records required by the nutrition program.
-Ensure the ongoing practice of safe food handling by developing and enforcing local policies and procedures related to foods safety and sanitation. Ensures all training and certification requirements are met at the Dining Centers.
-Provides backup assistance for the Department as needed.
-Assists in all department sponsored functions, to be determined by supervisor.
-Carry out all other duties and activities of this position as assigned to the holder of this position.

Physical Demands
-Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods.
-Proficiency in keyboarding and using office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers.
-Capable of lifting and carrying light to moderate office supplies.
-Visual acuity to read printed materials and view computers screen for extended periods.
-Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and perform tasks such as filing and organizing paperwork.
-Ability to communicate with the public and Vernon County staff in-person and on the phone.
-Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds
-Travel to other Vernon County Dining Centers and homes, offices and other sites.
-Is exposed to potential physical attack intermittently
-May occasionally handle stressful situations and short deadlines.
-Involves minimal potential and/or direct exposure to blood or bodily fluids.
Education and Training Requirements
-Graduation from an accredited high school or GED. Associates degree in business-related field. Minimum of 2 full-time equivalent years of experience performing bookkeeping duties and functions, with demonstrated competency in word processing, bookkeeping, and computer skills. May give preference for food service background and must complete Safe Serve training within three months of hire. Some experience working with various socio-economic levels of public; or any acceptable equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
-Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with adequate auto insurance to meet minimum County requirements, or access to reliable transportation for city and rural travel.
