Mental Health Therapist
Sawyer County Health and Human Services is accepting applications for a fulltime or part-time Mental Health Therapist to join an experienced outpatient behavioral health clinic team providing client centered therapeutic care options to enhance mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. The clinic offers a comprehensive behavioral health service array including individual, couple, family, and group therapies while serving those overwhelmed with life circumstances to those suffering from serious mental health and substance use disorders. Clinicians provide therapeutic services through the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Program initiative and integrate trauma informed care within daily practice.
Sawyer County (population 17,000) is situated within the pristine woods and waters of northwestern Wisconsin. Sawyer County Health and Human Services is located in the county seat of Hayward. Hayward is the home of world-class events such as the American Birkebeiner and the Lumberjack World Championships.
Qualifications for this position include a master’s degree in counseling, clinical social work, or related field with emphasis on mental health (MH) counseling. Applicant must possess licensure through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services to practice psychotherapy. Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) certification or the ability to obtain said certification. Minimum 3-years of counseling experience in Wisconsin State licensed mental health programs. Familiarity with both mental health and substance use diagnoses as outlined in the DSM-V. Experience with providing wraparound services engaging community agencies. Experience in treating special and/or diverse populations. Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License or ability to obtain as a condition of employment, use of reliable insured vehicle, and proof of vehicle insurance.
