Mental Health Crisis Responder – On-Call
Are you passionate about mental health?
Looking to make some extra money in a part-time capacity?
We’ve got the job for you!
Due to the occasional need to respond to a crisis in-person, responders must live within a reasonable distance to respond, generally defined as less than 30 minutes from downtown La Crosse.
If you are an experienced mental health professional with some flexibility to work about twice a week in an on-call capacity, we have the perfect opportunity for you to use your expertise to better our community while earning some extra income. As a Mental Health Crisis Responder, you will be the person that answers a call for help from individuals/families who are experiencing mental health crises within La Crosse County.
Calls may include individuals experiencing an increase in symptoms, those who may pose a threat of harm to themselves or others, or those who are otherwise in need of mental health support. Response may be handled by phone or on-site evaluation and support, depending on the call. This is a rewarding, fast-paced and challenging role, ideal for a person with a strong sense of empathy, decision making skills and ability to collaborate with community partners. Wisconsin Certified Crisis Program paid training is provided at onset of employment.
This on-call position offers flexible part-time scheduling that can often work around other schedule commitments.
Pay:
While performing Crisis work, which involves answering calls, conducting assessments, documenting, consulting, traveling, training, and attending monthly meetings, the pay is $26.56 per hour. While on-call and not actively working Crisis, the pay is $2.00 per hour.
