Position Training and experience:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a health related field.
• Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or healthcare related field preferred.
• Minimum of five years of Hospital/Clinic Administration experience.
• Critical Access Hospital experience required.
• Rural Health Clinic experience required.
• County Government Experience preferred.
• USDA funding experience preferred.
Position Summary:
• The Chief Executive Officer position is appointed by the Memorial Hospital Committee.
• The Chief Executive Officer inspires, guides, and directs a leadership team toward MHLC’s mission, vision, and core values through strategic planning, managing, directing, and coordinating the organization’s resources under the direction of the Hospital Committee, to achieve the Hospital’s and Primary Care Clinic’ annual goals and objectives with a focus on Excellence Always.
• The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the management of Memorial Hospital & Primary Care Clinics, serving as a liaison among the governing body, medical staff, nursing services, and other services of this organization.
Position Responsibilities:
• Ability to fully inform the Hospital Committee about the quality of patient care, the management and financial status of Memorial Hospital and Primary Care Clinics (PCC’s), survey results, and adequacy of the physical plant, equipment and personnel.
• Ability to deliver proactive and effective communication, listening, and advocacy to the spectrum of internal and external stakeholders, including patients, workforce, providers, leaders, community and Board Members.
• Ability to serve as a MHLC ambassador to the community and a customer liaison to patients and family.
• Ability to carry out all policies established by the Hospital Committee.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and retain a competent and committed leadership team responsible for leadership, high-quality care delivery and satisfaction in direct patient care and support services across the organization
• Ability to provide effective leadership of financial and accounting services within a board-approved operating budget, while meeting fiscal, risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to develop and maintain personnel policies and practices for Memorial Hospital & PCC’s.
• Ability to maintain the physical properties, keeping said properties in a good state of repair and operating condition.
• Ability to supervise the business concerns of Memorial Hospital & PCCs to ensure that funds are collected and expended to the facilities best advantage.
• Ability to organize and oversee the day to day functions of Memorial Hospital and PCC’s through appropriate departmentalization and delegation of duties.
• Ability to establish a formal means of staff evaluation and accountability on the part of subordinates to whom duties have been assigned.
• Ability to ensure that there is sufficient communication between the Hospital Committee, medical staff, nursing, and other services.
• Ability to organize and oversee departmental meetings on a regular basis, and attend or appoint representation; and report to the Hospital Committee all pertinent activities of Memorial Hospital and/or PCC’s.
• Ability to provide any information required by the Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS) to document compliance with Ch. 50 stats, and Ch. 124, and arrange for (DHFS) to examine records and gather the required information.
• Ability to develop and implement a strategic plan for the operation of Memorial Hospital and PCC’s.
• Ability to work in cooperation with medical staff and all others to ensure high quality care is rendered in a professional manner to all patients.
• Ability to present periodic reports reflecting the professional services and financial activities of Memorial Hospital and PPCs; as may be required by the Hospital Committee.
• Ability to attend all Hospital Committee meetings and other governing committees as requested.
• Ability to serve as a liaison, channeling communications between the Hospital Committee and/or any other subsequent committees, and the medical and professional staff.
• Ability to perform other duties as may be necessary in the successful operation and interests of Memorial Hospital and PCC’s.

Employee Responsibility in an Emergency:
As an employee of Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County, you are expected to respond to emergencies involving the safety of patients, other employees, visitors and the facility. This includes the ability to assist with a possible evacuation of facility if that has been deemed necessary.
