Mechanic

DESCRIPTION: Performs intermediate skilled trades work maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding all vehicles and equipment serviced by the Highway Department Shop, fabricating parts, welding materials, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Shop Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in equipment repair and maintenance, gasoline and diesel engines, welding, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates/Technical degree preferred. Possession of Work Zone Flagger and Class C Fuel certification upon hire. Possession of Commercial Driver’s License with A, B, C, Air Brak, and “N” Tanker endorsements. Obtain Mine Safety and Health Administration, Confined Spaces, and Forklift training within 1 year of hire. Valid driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin.

SALARY: $20.73 per hour. Adams County offers a generous benefits package.
