Job Description:

The full-time Maintenance Technician performs assigned maintenance tasks in county buildings, parks and on the grounds to include HVAC, electrical, plumbing or other building systems and general carpentry duties. Individual maintains the grounds around the county buildings, fairgrounds and Winter Sports Area by performing lawn care, landscaping and snow/ice removal and assists with maintaining the county parks system and campgrounds. Individual checks buildings on rotating weekends and/or holidays to ensure all systems are operating properly and buildings are secure and will be available to be called in for after hour emergencies.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. A preferred applicant will have 2-3 years of experience in trades work such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other operating systems and general carpentry or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities to fulfill the position. A valid driver’s license is required, as well as, experience in basic computer knowledge. Individual must possess the ability to troubleshoot problems with building and systems with minimal supervision, as well as, the ability to multitask and adapt to a change in duties at any given time.
