LIFE ENRICHMENT COORDINATOR, Brookside Care Center

The Life Enrichment Coordinator assists the Life Enrichment Director in providing an ongoing program of activities that promotes choice, dignity, and individuality, and is designed to meet the interests and physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being of each resident at Brookside Care Center.

2024 Hiring Range: $20.31 – $23.08 per hour

Work Schedule
• This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, generally from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Position Summary and Job Duties
• Assists with the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of a therapeutic activity program that meets the functional levels, needs, and interests of each resident
• Assists in the development of the LEAP (Life Enrichment Activity Program) calendars
• Completes appropriate records, in an accurate and timely manner, indicating resident attendance and participation in individual and group activities
• Assists Life Enrichment Director with the development of each resident’s care plan and their objectives and goals
• Completes required assessment, forms, and documents in accordance with our organization’s policy and state and/or federal regulations
• Contributes to facility efforts to maintain and/or improve quality of care through participation in meetings and committees assigned by the Life Enrichment Director
• Assists and works with individual volunteers and volunteer programs at the request of the Life Enrichment Director
• Operates a bus or van in transporting resident to and from various programs
• Continues resident assessment, care planning, and supervision of the life enrichment program in the absence of the Life Enrichment Director
• Participates in in-service training programs
• Completes new admission assessments for activities
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements, Education, Training and Experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 years of experience in a similar social or recreational setting within last 5 years, with 1 year being full-time in a health care setting in a patient activities program
• 1-3 years of experience in a secretarial or similar position

Licenses or Certifications
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

• The position involves light physical demands, such as exerting no more than 30 pounds, being comfortable moving around Brookside Care Center, and standing and sitting for periods of time
• Must be able to perform manual tasks, including moving/lifting tables and chairs, transporting residents long distances in wheelchairs, and loading/securing wheelchair residents in facility bus

The successful candidate for this position will be required to comply with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid regulations and Brookside Care Center’s mandatory vaccination policy in healthcare facilities. Proof of vaccination will be required as a condition of employment unless an individual obtains an approved medical or religious exemption.
