Do you enjoy traveling, working outside, and getting into streams? If so Monroe County Land Conservation is hiring for a summer intern to work 40 hours per week for a total of 480 hours. Successful candidates will have a high school diploma with a minimum of two years post-secondary education pursuing a degree in a natural resources field with enrollment for the fall 2021 semester. A valid driver’s license is required.

Our Land Conservation Intern will work under the general direction of the Land Conservation Department to assist in a wide range of conservation related programs, to include: 75% of time spent completing assessments on existing road-stream crossings (bridges/culverts) throughout Monroe County to evaluate for fish passage and flood resiliency, and 25% of time spent providing support and assistance to the Soil & Water Conservationists with various conservation practices, surveys, and design and installations.

Hiring salary is $11.30/hr. This is a limited term opportunity from mid-May through the end of August.
