Job Objective:
The primary purpose of this job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of Lafayette Manor Nursing Home in accordance with current applicable federal, state, county, and facility regulations, policies and procedures and as my be directed by the Manor Committee, and/or Lafayette County Board.

Qualifications:
• Degree in business, accounting, finance or healthcare.
• Minimum of 3 years’ healthcare experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Wisconsin Nursing Home Administration licensure.

Essential Functions of the Administrator:
• Prepare written administrative policies and procedures regarding duties and activities of facility staff.
• Enforce the facility policies and procedures.
• Act as a liaison to the governing body for the medical, nursing and other professional staff and all departments within the facility.
• Responsible for all reports required by the governing body and the State and Federal governments such as Medicare and Medicaid cost and annual reports or survey Plans of Correction.
• Oversee the written personnel policies and individual job descriptions, as prepared by the Human Resource Coordinator.
• Supervise all facility department heads and administrative staff.
• Supervise all recruitment, employment, performance, evaluation, promotion, disciplinary measures, and discharge of staff.
• Assume responsibility with department heads that adequate staffing is maintained.
• Oversee all financial transactions.
• Oversee the confidentiality and safe storage of: current and closed resident records; personnel records; and physical plant records; in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the accounting and purchasing departments to ensure the proper disbursement of money, and the proper recording of such transactions.
• Oversee process to ensure that necessary resources and materials are available for staff meetings and in-service education programs.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with community agencies providing services of benefit to the facility.
• Serve as an active member of all appropriate committees.
• Arbitrate complaints and disputes concerning residents, families or personnel.
• Review and evaluate all recommendations of the facility’s committees and consultants.
• Oversee the process to ensure that equipment is in operating order and needed equipment is available.
• Interpret all federal, state and local regulations for the facility staff.
• Establish procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
• Act as a liaison: between facility and regulatory agencies; facility and all resident advocacy agencies; and between the facility and all fiscal intermediaries.
• Responsible for the submission of annual Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports.
• Observe all facility infection control; safety; Resident’s Rights; and all other polices and procedures necessary to the ongoing operation of the facility.
• Act as a liaison to all Lafayette County Committees and agencies as needed.
• Maintain a collaborative and positive working relationship between Lafayette Manor and MHLC.
• Responsible for the facility’s annual operating and capital budgets.
• Develop, direct and maintain the implementation of written policies and procedures that reflect the goals and objectives of the facility.
• Interpret the facility’s policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, visitors and others.
• Ensure the residents’ right to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to file complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
• Establish a positive public relations/ marketing program that service the best interest of the residents, facility and community alike.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
• Oversee operating costs of the facility through careful review of ordering practices and invoices.
• Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations and make adjustments as necessary to assure the continued ability to provide quality resident care.
• Evaluate and implement recommendations from the facility’s committees, e.g. QAPI, Resident Council, etc.
• Oversee facility practices and that the necessary equipment and supplies are in place at all times; to ensure a clean, safe, comfortable environment for residents to reside.
• Provide leadership and support to strategic planning efforts regarding future replacement options for potential new construction of Lafayette Manor.
• Take on-call 24/7 and respond to all emergency situations in a timely manner.

Employee Responsibility in an Emergency:
As an employee of Lafayette Manor, you are expected to respond to emergency situations involving the safety of residents, other employees, and the facility. This includes the ability to assist with a possible evacuation of residents.
