Jail Sergeant
DUTIES: Performs difficult protective service work managing the daily operation of the County Jail, maintaining the overall security of the facility, ensuring daily facility and inmate inspections are completed, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Jail Administrator/Captain. Continuous oversight is exercised over Deputy Jailer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED and considerable experience in corrections, law enforcement, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of Jailer certification upon hire. Possession of Automated External Defibrillator, first aid, mental health and suicide prevention, intoxameter, Taser, defense spray, and self-contained breathing apparatus training upon hire. Obtain first-line supervisor training within 1 year of hire. Valid driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin.
Starting Wage Range: $22.92. The County offers a generous benefits package.
