Jail Deputy

Performs intermediate protective service work maintaining safety and security in the County Jail, managing the transportation of inmates, administering and discharging inmates, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Jail Administrator/Captain.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED and minimal experience in corrections, law enforcement, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates/Technical degree preferred. Possession of Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Operation license upon hire. Obtain Jailer certification within one year of hire. Obtain Automated External Defibrillator, first aid, mental health and suicide prevention, intoxameter, Taser, defense spray, and self-contained breathing apparatus training within one year of hire. Valid driver’s license in the State of Wisconsin.

Starting Wage: $21.56 per hour. The County offers a generous benefits package.
