Position Title: Extension Summer Intern
Location: Waushara County, WI
Dates: Summer 2025
Are you looking for an exciting and hands-on opportunity this summer? The Waushara County UW Extension is seeking a motivated and dedicated Summer Intern to assist with a variety of programs including the Waushara County Fair, 4-H Youth Development, Community Development, and Agriculture. This internship offers valuable experience in event coordination, program support, and community outreach.
What You’ll Do:
• Waushara County Fair Support: Assist in the planning and coordination of the county fair, including preparing exhibitor packets, creating fair materials, and using the Fair Entry computer portal.
• Program Coordination: Work alongside Extension Staff to plan and implement educational programs across multiple areas, including 4-H Youth Development and Agriculture.
• Marketing & Promotion: Help promote events on social media, local newspapers, radio, and other media sources. You’ll also assist in updating the Extension website.
• General Support: Provide assistance in the Extension office, completing various administrative duties and tasks as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, OneDrive, and the willingness to learn new software, including Fair Entry.
• Abilities: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality. A strong interest in working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Additional Requirements: Access to transportation, a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and proof of insurance.
Position Details:
• Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with occasional evenings or weekends for special events.
• Working Environment: Primarily office work with occasional travel to fairgrounds, camps, fields, and other locations.
• Compensation: Maximum of 560 hours for the summer.
