The Taylor County Human Services Department has a full-time (35-hour) opening for an Intake Specialist. This position is the first point of contact for individuals seeking information, referrals, or support from the department. The role involves interviewing walk‑in clients, assessing their needs, and directing them to appropriate services within the department or within the community. It also includes evaluating telephone inquiries, completing intake paperwork, gathering financial and insurance information, entering data into department systems, and maintaining accurate client records. The position is responsible for receiving, documenting, and processing Adult Protective Services reports. It ensures that all crisis assessments are accurately recorded and properly routed to the appropriate staff member for timely follow‑up. The role also provides administrative support and back‑up coverage for other office functions to maintain smooth and efficient departmental operations.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Two years of professional work experience in the human services field is preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the relevant knowledge base.
