This full-time social work/case management position will provide services for Child Protection Services (CPS) Families. Duties include case management, assessing needs of families, placement determinations, making court recommendations, collaborating with community resources, and receiving/documenting abuse and neglect referrals. In addition, this position may provide voluntary case management services. This position will participate in a 24-hour juvenile intake on-call rotation and may provide Access duties on a rotating basis.

Essential Functions of the Position:
Perform safety interventions that focus on assessing for and controlling, Present and Impending Dangers while collaborating with families to establish protective capacities.
Interpret Present and Impending Danger Threats to child safety, parent/caregiver protective capacities, and risk concerns to make decisions.
Address immediate safety concerns for children in need of protection or services, assess and plan for safety, develop case plans, prepare for and participate in court proceedings, coordination and collaboration with families and community professionals for services in addressing needs.
Offer of Voluntary Services by guiding families to find formal and informal supports within the community.
Establish working relationships with community providers, law enforcement, school districts, legal partners, and alike resources.

On-Call: Receive incoming child protection and juvenile delinquency emergencies after-hours and make decisions regarding immediate safety to include decisions regarding holding a child/youth in custody and coordination of emergency placement/juvenile detention. This requires coordination with law enforcement regarding custody decisions and engagement with other community professionals, such as hospital staff.

Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human and Family Studies, Criminal Justice or closely related human services field.
Professional case work at the type and level consistent with a County Human Services Worker is preferred in which a working knowledge of social work principles, ethics and boundaries, and professional documentation is demonstrated.
Ability to pass required background checks.
A valid Driver’s license required.
