Income Maintenance/Economic Support Specialist

Columbia County Health and Human Services is hiring two full-time Economic Support Specialists to join our team. These positions are vital customer service roles that determine eligibility for public assistance programs for Columbia County and seven surrounding counties as part of the Capital Consortium. You will assist clients via inbound and outbound calls, determine eligibility for programs like FoodShare, Medical Assistance, BadgerCare Plus, Child Care, Caretaker Supplement, and Elderly, Blind, and Disabled benefits. You will maintain a caseload and accurately process applications and renewals, and apply complex rules and regulations using sound judgement. Qualifications: Associate or Business Degree from an accredited Vocational, College, or Technical School in a related field or two (2) years’ experience working with the public OR equivalent combination of training and experience. Successful completion of Wisconsin Dept. of Health Services Income Maintenance Certification (certification training provided while on the job) and successful processing of cases and calls w/in 6 months of hire date required. Hours for this position could start as early as 7:15 a.m. and end as late as 4:30 p.m. Hire rate: $23.96 per hour.
