Pepin County is accepting application for the Human Services Director Position. This is an administrative position in the Human Services Department proving professional management over department employees and a complex human services system, as provided for under Wisconsin Statutes 46.23. The position has overall responsibility for the administration of the department including planning, developing, and managing the budget, and all human services programs and services.
The employee in this position consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion, under the supervision of the County Administrative Coordinator, Human Services Board, County Board, and the rules and regulations promulgated by The Department of Health Services, Department of Children and Families Services, Department of Corrections, Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, Department of Administration, and the policies and procedures of Pepin County. The person in this position is responsible for managing numerous county human services programs that currently include, but are not limited to Economic Support, Child Welfare, Youth Justice, Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Services, Children Long Term Support Waiver, Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), Birth to Three, and Child Support.
Qualifications include Graduation from an accredited college with a master’s degree in a human service or management area, with three years of experience in the human services field, including responsibility for administering a complex program. A bachelor’s degree in human services or management area and five years of high-level administrative experience in a Wisconsin County Social/Human Services agency will satisfy the education requirement. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Social Work Certification or equivalent work experience with extensive knowledge and skillset in child protection. Evidence of enthusiasm for work, objectivity, patience, integrity, resourcefulness, attention to detail, initiative, leadership ability, persistence, discretion in maintaining confidentiality, and problem-solving skills.
Wage scale for this position is $$84,162 – $96,194 annually. This is a full-time exempt position with scheduled hours of 37.5 per week with a complete benefit package included. Travel for home visits, trainings and meetings is required.
