Do you have strong attention to detail and enjoy working with billing while assisting others? If so, Monroe County’s Finance Department might have the job for you! We’re hiring for a full-time Human Services Accountant II – Billing & Accounts Receivable. Successful candidates will have an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other closely related field. Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired and accounting software knowledge is helpful. Knowledge in medical billing is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired will also be considered.

Our Human Services Billing & Accounts Receivable Accountant II bills and collects for revenue due on account for services received. This position credentials and revalidates providers; generates computerized claims and bills for submission to Medical Assistance, Medicare, Managed Care, private insurance, and private pay; and interviews clients to determine their ability to pay in accordance with Wisconsin state statutes and obtains necessary documentation to verify. Our Accountant II also posts receipts to accounts, makes adjustments based on ability to pay, and monitors pay sources to exhaust all avenues of payment.

Starting salary for this position is: $18.00 – $20.00 hourly depending on qualifications and experience with an approved increase to $21.06/hr. effective 06/26/2022.
