Human Resources Generalist
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to carry out a variety of Human Resources functions including benefit administration, recruitment, workers compensation and other human resources duties. This position requires the application of superior judgment in carrying out procedures and applying policy. Must protect confidential information, assure compliance with state and federal laws, and exercise exceptional attention to detail. The work is performed under the direction of the Human Resources Director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and one to three years of experience in an administrative capacity, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel required. HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP), preferred.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS:
The 2022 annual salary for this full-time (80 hours bi-weekly), exempt position is $53,622 to $68,931(step 16). The expected starting annual salary is $53,622 to $61,276 (step 6), depending upon qualifications. Trempealeau County’s compensation plan considers annual wage step increases. A comprehensive benefit package is offered to county employees including health insurance, flex spending account, dependent care reimbursement, pension plan, deferred compensation, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, critical illness insurance, cancer insurance, accident insurance and paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.
