Waushara County Highway Department is Hiring: Highway Patrolman (Full-Time)

Location: Waushara County, WI

Pay & Benefits:

Wage: $24.42 – $26.06 per hour (based on relevant experience)

Overtime pay during weather events and maintenance
$200 annual Safety/Boot Allowance
What You’ll Do:

Maintain and repair county roads: patching, paving, sealing, snow plowing, salting, sanding
Keep right-of-ways safe: mow grass, remove debris, clear hazards
Inspect, operate, and maintain trucks, snowplows, and heavy equipment
Perform minor repairs on equipment, buildings, and grounds
Assist with traffic control and promote road safety
Respond promptly to weather events and emergencies — overtime required as needed
What We’re Looking For

Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 4-6 years in road maintenance and/or construction preferred
License: Valid Wisconsin CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements
Skills:

Knowledge of road repair materials, methods, and equipment
Ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery
Professional, respectful interaction with the public
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions

Outdoor work in all Wisconsin weather
Physical activity: lifting (up to 100 lbs), climbing, kneeling, operating equipment
