Highway Mechanic

Are you a driven go-getter who enjoys repairing and maintaining large equipment? If so, Monroe County’s Highway Department might have the job for you. We’re hiring for a full-time Highway Mechanic. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in road maintenance and construction equipment repair or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. A CDL Class A for airbrake equipment and a minimum of N endorsement is preferred or the ability to obtain within first year of employment. Our Highway Department will train the right candidate.

Our Highway Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining all types of the Highway Department’s equipment. Starting salary for this position is: $20.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
