Highway Commissioner

Jackson County is seeking a qualified Highway Commissioner to oversee the planning, construction, and maintenance of county highways, roads, and bridges. This leadership role involves budget management, securing state and federal funding, and collaborating with local municipalities, government agencies, and legislators.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field,10+ years of experience in highway construction/maintenance, including 6+ years in a supervisory role, strong knowledge of highway engineering, budgeting, and public administration, equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered, valid Wisconsin Driver’s License (CDL preferred)
2025 SALARY: $96,553 – $107,577 based upon qualifications, plus excellent county benefits package and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
