Highway Commissioner
COLUMBIA COUNTY HIGHWAY COMMISSIONER: Under the direction of the Highway Committee, this position has the overall and primary responsibility to administer and oversee the operation of the Highway and Transportation Department including all programs and staff. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience and responsibility in an engineering environment, OR Associate Degree from an accredited vocational or technical school in civil engineering or construction, and familiarity with accounting principles coupled with at least seven (7) years of administrative experience, including budgetary responsibilities in the engineering, highway or transportation industry. A Professional Engineer’s license is desirable for this position. Valid Wisconsin Drivers License required. Availability for emergency call for varying lengths of time on a 24 hour, 7-day basis. 2024 annual salary range: $95,894.24 – $109,597.28 based on 2080 hours per year.
