Fleet Superintendent

Full-time senior shop management position with Columbia County Highway & Transportation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Highway Commissioner with the management and maintenance of department equipment, facilities, shop operations, fuel systems and inventory; planning and assigning work; supervising and training employees; maintaining fleet and equipment records; and overseeing preventative maintenance and repair operations. Weekend and night on-call responsibilities are required. Qualifications: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in planning, maintaining, operating, training or supervising mechanics and other personnel responsible for the maintenance and replacement of equipment and facilities; OR a combinations of field experience and vocational or technical school education in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Machinery, Automotive Technology or a related field, and a minimum of two (2) years of responsible supervisory experience. Driver’s License with Class A Commercial Driver’s and H and N endorsements required DATCP Fuelt System A/B certification required within six (6) months of hire. Hire Rate: $40.840 per hour.
