SUPERVISOR:          FAIR COORDINATOR

LOCATION: GREEN LAKE COUNTY EXTENSION OFFICE, GREEN LAKE COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER & GREEN LAKE COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT (during the Fair dates).

SUMMARY:

The Green Lake County Fair has made it their mission to provide positive youth development and leadership skills, along with promoting family and community involvement through education and tradition.

EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: June – mid-August, maximum of 600 hours. Actual start and end dates are somewhat flexible. Must be available during the fair, August 4–7, 2022.

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $12.75

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (ILLUSTRATIVE AND NOT INCLUSIVE)

Assist and work with Fair Coordinator on the various tasks to prepare for the Fair.
Assist and work with youth, volunteers, and general public.
Assist with coordinating educational displays and/or activities for the fair.
Other responsibilities as assigned and required.
Attend Ag, Extension Education and Fair Committee meetings.
Thorough knowledge of several computer programs including but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Publisher), and other software as required in the department.
Knowledge of social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to use for promoting and advertising events.
QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledge of the Green Lake County Fair and Agriculture is an added plus to assist the general public.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to understand and effectively carry out instructions, meet deadlines and maintain accurate and complete records.  
Available for occasional evening and weekend work.
Access to a vehicle, driver’s license and own vehicle insurance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: At least 65% of time is viewing a computer screen, talking, hearing, handling objects, or fingering, which includes typing and writing. Walking, sitting, using far and near vision is used 35% of the time including stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching. Five percent of time may be use for high-level activity, such as heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, running, and grappling, pulling, pushing, or moving heavy equipment.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 90% of time is indoors; 10% may be outdoors.

EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Computer, calculator, telephone, copy machine, laminating machine, and other equipment as it comes available.
