Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Richland County Ambulance Service is currently licensed at the AEMT level with a blended service of full-time, causal/call-in, and paid-on-call staff. We strive to provide high quality

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Interpersonal Communication: Staff must communicate effectively with all involved in emergency response as well as superiors, peers, and the public. Staff must be professional and patient while always observing HIPAA regulations. Staff must also be able to demonstrate effective and timely documentation skills as required by the Service and State.
2. Physical and Environmental Adaptability: Staff must be able to bend, lift weight beyond 80lbs, and kneel for long periods of time. Staff will be expected at times to respond to potentially hazardous scenes at a variety of locations which may present with risks such as extreme temperatures, noises, odors, etc.

Position Details:
Richland County Ambulance Service positions would be for casual/call-in staff expected to work an average of 36 hours within each two-week pay period. Candidates must be
willing to work nights and weekends. Wages are set at $15.05 – $15.76 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified persons must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, valid Wisconsin EMT license, and current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR Certification or equivalent. Candidates must also have proof of completion of ICS 100 and IS700 FEMA courses and have a working knowledge of the appropriate Wisconsin Scope of Practice. Candidates considered for employment must pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Qualified applicants will
be asked to participate in a series of written and cognitive skills testing related to the position prior to employment.
