Chippewa County is accepting applications for an Economic Support Specialist position within the Department of Human Services – Economic Support Division. The job duties of the Economic Support Specialist position include but are not limited to: determining eligibility and providing ongoing case management for Chippewa County/Great Rivers Income Maintenance Consortium in a timely and accurate manner for the following public assistance programs: Medical Assistance, BadgerCare Plus, Food Share/SNAP, Caretaker Supplement (CTS), and Wisconsin Shares Child Care subsidies.

The position is remote and requires in-person meetings located at the Chippewa County Courthouse on occasion. Must reside in Wisconsin.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year or more experience as an Income Maintenance/Economic Support Specialist in the state of Wisconsin required. -OR- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or financial related program required with one (1) year of recent human services or financial work experience preferred. Previous direct customer service work experience with benefit programs and determining benefit eligibility preferred. Must have knowledge of and experience with computers and strong interpersonal skills. A valid driver’s license. Starting Wage: $24.54 – $26.67 per hour depending on qualifications plus an excellent fringe benefit package. Maximum Wage: $32.00 per hour.
