Economic Development and Tourism Director

Lafayette County is looking for an Economic Development and Tourism Director to join our Economic Development Department located in Darlington, WI. This is a regular full-time/40 hours per week; Monday-Friday position with starting pay of $31.20 per hour and full benefit package eligibility, including state retirement (pension).

Position Summary: The Economic Development and Tourism Director is responsible for facilitating community and economic development planning and initiatives, identifying and fostering community economic development opportunities, securing funding for economic development activities and programs, and promoting the community in order to expand economic development opportunities.

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration or similar field
• Additional training and certifications in economic development is desirable
• Two years of economic development or similar field is desired, but not required
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and access to a private vehicle for work related duties
• Goal-oriented, self-starter able to set priorities and work independently to complete tasks in a timely fashion
• High level of energy, a positive outlook and a strong work ethic
• Attend evening meetings as needed
