Applications are being accepted for a full-time Dispatcher position that offers an excellent benefit package and starting wage of $20.07 per hour to Dispatchers at the Taylor County Sheriff’s office.

Individual receives all calls for service that includes requests for emergency assistance, complaints from the public and radio traffic from officers and other departments concerning public safety. Works with computer equipment and a multi-agency enhanced 911 system to dispatch law enforcement, ambulance, fire services, etc. throughout Taylor County. Issues local weather watches and/or warnings in response to inclement weather information issued from the National Weather Service.

Applicant must be a high school graduate or equivalency. Individual shall have the ability to make immediate decisions with good judgement, remain calm in stressful and emergency situations and perform multi-task responsibilities. Consideration will be given for related education, training and certifications [CPR, First Responder, TIME program]. Applicants will be subject to a medical examination, drug screening and background investigation.

A completed Taylor County (Law Enforcement Deputy & Jailer/Dispatcher) application is required to be considered for this position.
