Deputy Sheriff – Transport

Jackson County is accepting applications to fill a full-time Deputy Sheriff – Transport union position. Duties may include providing secured transportation services to include, but not limited to; persons in custody or detained by law enforcement, incarcerated inmates that need to be transported to and from detention facilities, execution of writs, extradition of court orders, and incarcerated inmates needing to attend court proceedings. In addition, this position performs law enforcement activities, court security, process services and assists in jail operations, as needed.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: This position is sworn with arrest powers and requires either an applicant to have an Associate’s Degree or a minimum of 60 college credits in Criminal Justice or related field; a valid 720-hour Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officer Certification or to be certifiable upon hire. Requires a valid Wisconsin driver’s license that will allow unrestricted performance of duties with no extensive drivers record, legal history or criminal background; no felony convictions.

2024 Starting Wage: $25.90 per hour and includes an excellent County benefits and State retirement package.
