Deputy Sheriff Eligibility List

Performs general police work to maintain public safety through the enforcement of State and County laws. Performs a variety of duties connected with the operation of the jail and security of inmates. New Employees are hired as a fully-sworn Deputy Sheriff with full arrest powers, beginning your career in the Jail Division and transfer to Patrol based on seniority.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously. Ability to possess a firearm and use all standard law enforcement equipment. 60 college credits, no felony or domestic convictions, minimum age of 18, valid driver’s license.
STARTING WAGE: $28.30 per hour. Juneau County offers a generous benefits package.
