Position Purpose:
This full-time position serves as principal assistant to the Register of Deeds and assists in the overall operation of the office; does related work as required and directed by the Register of Deeds. That person must know all aspects in the running of the Register of Deeds Office, be very detail oriented and well organized.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business or Land Records or equivalent combination of education and minimum of three years of office experience in real estate law or title work, supplemented by courses in real estate principles and laws desired
• Basic accounting principles
• Accurate data entry experience
• Experience or training in standard office practices and procedures plus personal computer use, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet Browser
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Keyboarding speed of 45 words per minute
• Excellent penmanship for writing and printing data, legible signature
• Excellent communication skills
The 2025 Wage scale for this position is: $21.65 – $24.74 per hour, scheduled 37.5 hours per week, with full benefit package including Wisconsin Retirement, with a tentative starting date of January 6, 2025.
