Deputy Medical Examiner – Limited Term Employee
Oneida County Medical Examiners Office is looking for several individuals to fill LTE (Limited Term Employee) Deputy Medical Examiner positions.
JOB DUTIES AND HOURS: Respond to death calls in the areas of Oneida, Vilas and Forest Counties to examine the deceased and the circumstances of death. Position will complete paperwork and work with various entities to complete job duties. Position will work scheduled 12-hour on-call periods. Flexibility available for scheduling.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Qualified individuals must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, good driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Associates degree in paramedic, nursing, biology, medicine, pre-med, forensic science, criminal justice or related field is preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION:
– Per Diem for 12-hour on-call period:
▪ $20 per period for weekdays
▪ $40 per period for weekends and
– If called in during a shift, also receives:
▪ $100 for calls requiring 4 hours or less time.
▪ $150 for calls requiring more than four hours time.
▪ mileage reimbursement for travel to/from call locations is provided.
