Oneida County is accepting applications to fill a part-time (30 hours per week) Deputy Clerk I position with the County Clerk’s Office.

JOB DUTIES: This position serves as an assistant to the County Clerk and Chief Deputy position assisting with the County Board, Elections, Insurance, Marriage Licenses and the overall operation of the office. Position is called upon to exercise independent judgement and initiative.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must have a High school degree or equivalent and experience with customer service, general math, secretarial tasks and computers, plus one of the following: two years post high school education in one of the above areas; OR one year post high school education in above areas plus one year work experience in above areas; OR two years of work experience in above areas.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and have knowledge of computer hardware, software, and accessories, ability to learn County department rules, regulations and State Statutes, type 60 words per minute, take and keep accurate minutes, clerical files, and records, work independently and be able to complete WisVote training and certification.

WAGES AND BENEFITS: Starting 2025 wage for this position is $22.96 per hour plus benefits including affordable health, dental and vision insurance, Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) participation and a PTO (Paid Time Off) package with the ability to carry unused PTO into future years.
