Deputy Director Human Services
Oneida County is now accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Director position with the newly created Human Services Department.
JOB DUTIES: Assists Human Services Director in providing program management, development and evaluation as well as budget oversight for programs involving Mental Health, AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse), Emergency Services, Outpatient Clinic, CLTS (Children’s Long-Term Support), Birth to Three, Child Support, Economic Support, Children and Adult Social Services and other programs of the Human Services Department, to ensure all department services are integrated, performing within budget and at a high level of quality and effectiveness. This position will serve as a liaison to local, regional and state partners, paying particular attention to the relationships, communication and contracted service delivery to Vilas and Forest Counties. Position acts on behalf of the Director in their absence and may be required to prepare and present information to various boards and committees. This position directly supervises managers of the Mental Health, AODA, Emergency Services, Outpatient Clinic, CLTS and Birth to Three units of the Department and other unit managers as determined by the Director, with supervisory responsibilities including the process of hiring, training, designating workloads and performance evaluation of employees, and addressing and resolving problems and complaints.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in the field of Human Services, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field plus extensive experience in progressively responsible and relevant positions is required, however an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be knowledgeable of management and business administration principles, practices and techniques as well as pertinent laws, regulations and practices pertaining to social service programs.
EMPLOYMENT DATES: Position available January 2, 2025, with some flexibility.
SALARY: The 2025 salary for this position is $85,285 to $120,832 per year, based on previous education and experience plus a comprehensive benefit package including affordable health insurance, generous PTO (Paid Time Off) that allows carryover of unused hours into future years and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
